  • How to Write a Eulogy

"The writing and reading of a eulogy is, above all, the simple and elegant search for small truths. This can be surprisingly hard, to take notice of the smallest, most unpolished details of a life and set them up for us to stare at in the wonder of recognition."

—Tom Chiarella, "How to Give a Eulogy"

It has been approximately 16mo’s since Momma’s service (Reta Mae Snyder) Witherrite. Had the opportunity to reach out yesterday and talk to Richard at Merchants Funeral Home, Clarkston, WA. Always so thorough and all information for families, fellow employees very safe with Richard, trust in your privacy can be with him.

Our family has used their services for multiple generations and every time things have went smoothly with minimal miscommunication. This is a very high stress event in anyone's journey and having people to help navigate is a blessing. Highly recommend being proactive by making and paying for all arrangements for yourself. Our parents did this and it was extremely kind and responsible of them. Jessie went above and beyond. We are thankful.

My experience with Brooke could not have been better! She went above and beyond my expectations in every way. From the care in preparing my father to all of the background paperwork and helping to get him back to California. I am extremely grateful and feel blessed that He was in your care. I placed my trust in you and you did not disappoint us. Thank you dear Brooke. May you continue to do well and know what you do and what you did matters. Sincerely the family of Jeff Rich

They helped me navigate my daughters funeral. I couldn't have made it through it without the professionalism and care they took in everything. They helped me with the obituary writing, the casket, letting her friend do her hair and makeup, the service, and the headstone. My grandparents, mom, and daughter are buried at the cemetery in Lewiston.

Brooke went above and beyond for my family when my sister passed recently. The sincere compassion and delicate care she showed for my family will never be forgotten. Not only did she make our arrangements with professional ease, she gave us comfort knowing the care she gave our beloved family member. It can be very difficult and painful to make these arrangements during times such as this. Brooke’s natural kindness made all the difference when we were there. The tender care she gave to my sister was remarkable. She even went above and beyond with memorial ideas and personal keepsakes. Thank you Brooke for all that you do, not only for the families, but the care you showed our loved ones that have passed. Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation!! I highly recommend her to anyone that’s needing her services. Thank you once again not only from me but from my family.
